CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Believing that theoretical knowledge is enhanced when co-curricular activities related to the content taught, are organized, the College emphasizes on co-curricular activities in order to help student-teachers develop 21st century skills like co-operation, collaboration, creativity and leadership skills  which will eventually prepare them to be competent facilitators.

The College offers the following Co-curricular Activities:

  • Clubs

The College has instituted 5 Clubs viz – Aesthetic Club, Photography & Art Club, Cultural Club, Literary Club & Eco Club. Student Teachers are given the option to become members of any one of the seven clubs, as per their interests. Various activities are carried out by each Club under the guidance of Teacher-Educators in-charge.

  • Students Council

The College has a Students’ Council in order to bridge and put forth grievances and interests between the college and the student teachers, and look into the welfare of the student community in particular and college in general.

  • Red Ribbon Club

Red Ribbon Club has been established under the aegis of the NSCACS. With a view to create awareness about Adolescence Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, the importance of Blood Donation, etc, and to mobilise efforts for the same, the installation of the Red Ribbon Club in the College has been initiated, and approval secured from the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSCACS).

  • Games and Sports

Conferring to the adage, “Sound Mind in a Sound Body” the College provides facilities for Volleyball, Badminton and Table Tennis within the campus for student-teachers’ recreation. Sports Week is also organized every year. Student-teachers participate in various events every year in the form of inter-house or on individual competitions. Two teacher-educators are put in-charge of their activities each year.

  • Course specific Field Trips/ Exposure Trips

To reinforce experiential and contextual learning and establish connectedness between theory and the real world, various field trips are organized under different course specific subjects/papers.

  • Cultural Day

The college sets asides a day or two, to celebrate, appreciate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the different Naga tribes as part of their Course and pedagogic medium.

In addition to the above mentioned activities, the College also regularly observes some important occasions and celebrations such as the Induction Day, College Foundation Day, Parting Social, Teachers Day, International Mother Language Day, Advent Christmas, etc. Workshops and Seminars focused on different aspects of Self-development are also organized.
