ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

 The eligibility conditions for admission to the B.Ed course is as per the guidelines and norms laid down by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi, which states:

  1. Candidates with altleast 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s degree and/or in the Master’s degree or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.
  2. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST/OBC and all other special categories.

SEATS AVAILABLE (subject to change as per requirement)

Total no. of seats                     :           50

RESERVED CATEGORY:

  1. EBC Quota              :           1 seat (sponsored by Principal and Faculty)
  2. PWD                         :           3% seats will be reserved

NOTE:  For other categories, reservation of the seats will be as per the Government of Nagaland rules.

Reservation of 1 (one) Management Quota for Economically Backward Category (EBC):

The Principal and Faculty of MCTE have been sponsoring the fees of 1 (one) student teacher belonging to the Economically Backward Category (EBC), since  2020. Candidates intending to apply under this category will be required to fulfill the following criteria.

The Intending Candidate-

  • Should appear the Nagaland State Education Common Entrance Test (B.Ed.) conducted by Nagaland University and fulfil all the NCTE & Nagaland University Criteria for Application.
  • Should have his/her Parents/Guardian as Permanent Residents of Mokokchung Town.
  • Should produce a Certificate of Employment of Parents, which should be duly certified by the Ward/Village Chairman.
  • Should attach Ward/ Village Residential Certificate.
  • Should appear before the Interview Board constituted by the College, for selection under this Category, to test their Aptitude for Teaching after the result declaration of Nagaland State Education Common Entrance Test (B.Ed.)

 Terms & Condition:            

  • If the declared Information made by the Candidate is found to be False, he/she will be released from the College at any point of time during the Course, and will require to refund the amount of fees that may have been paid this far.

SELECTION PROCESS

  1. Beginning with the Academic Session July, 2019, the Selection Process of Pre-Service candidates for undergoing the B.Ed. programme in various Government and Private STEIs in the state, has been centralized with the Department of Teacher Education, Nagaland University, as the Nodal agency.
  2. For the selection of the student teacher candidate under EBC Quota, a three (3) member board consisting of Principal, one (1) faculty and an external member is set up.

ADMISSION

The Admission process will begin after the University declares the list of selected candidates, the same of which will be notified through its website www.nagalanduniversity.ac.in. Admission to the college for the selected candidates takes place normally in the month of July-August each year. The seats of those candidates who do not take their admission within the specified period automatically stand cancelled, and such seats go to those in the waiting list.

Note: All admissions are subject to Eligibility certified by the Nagaland University.
